Besides the above-mentioned „Five publications,“ two edited books have come out of those projects (Muzur A, Sass H-M, eds. 2012. The most important results: creating a stable collaboration network throughout Latin America (joint application to a Horizon 2020 call; invitation for Croatian scientists to the FrancoLatinamerican forums of bioethics, world congress on clinical bioethics, etc.; collaboration at journal publication, etc.). From the second project (EuroBioAct), the list of „bioethical standards“ came out (published as a printed catalog) in cooperation with three local communities (Kršan, Bakar, Mali Lošinj).

Toni Buterin
He was born in 1991 in Rijeka; he has a master’s degree in sanitary engineering, a doctoral student in the doctoral program in health and environmental engineering, and an assistant at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka. He completed his internship at the Training Institute for Public Health of the Primorje-Gorski Kotar County.
He is engaged in scientific and teaching activities in the fields of biomedicine and healthcare and interdisciplinary fields of science. He cites public health, bioethics, history of medicine and medical ethics as his main areas of interest. Igor Eterović
Born in 1984 in Rijeka (Croatia), finished elementary school in Lovran and general high school in Opatija. In 2008, he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Rijeka (Philosophy and History), and in 2015 he received his doctorate in philosophy (ethics) from the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (Philosophy). He has been a scientific associate since 2016 and has been working as a researcher at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities in Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka since 2009.
As a scholar of the Fulbright Foundation (pre-doctoral category) in the academic year 2014/2015. he received scientific training at the University of Maryland (College Park, USA) as a visiting researcher (Fulbright Visiting Research Scholar). He won the Top scholarship for top students for the academic year 2008/2009.
His areas of specialization are the philosophy of Immanuel Kant, bioethics, and ethics, and his areas of competence are local history and the history of medicine. He wrote one book, edited two books, and translated one chapter. He wrote three chapters in a book, four scientific papers in anthologies, and over ten scientific and many professional articles in the mentioned fields in various scientific journals. He also writes popularization articles in professional journals. He presented his research at over twenty international and over ten domestic scientific conferences.
He is the editor-in-chief of the scientific journals Zbornik Lovranšćine (since 2010), JAHR – European Journal of Bioethics (since 2016), and AMHA – Acta medico Historica Adriatica (since 2017) and a member of the junior editorial board of the journals Filozofska istraživanja and Synthesis philosophica (both since 2010). .). He writes reviews for several scientific journals. He was a collaborator on several scientific projects: Medical elements in the sacral tradition of the Archdiocese of Rijeka (Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, 2011-2014), Fritz Jahr and the European roots of bioethics: establishing an international network of scientists (Croatian Science Foundation, 2011), European Bioethics in Action (Croatian Science Foundation, 2014–2017) and The Roots of Bioethics: American and European Contributions to the Construction of a Common History, 2014–2018).
At the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka, he is engaged in teaching subjects in the field of bioethics, medical ethics, and health care ethics (“Bioethics in health care”, “Bioethics in midwifery”, “Introduction to medical ethics and bioethics”, “Ethics in healthcare”, “Medical ethics”, “Ethics in health care”, “Philosophy and bioethics in nursing”) and the history of medicine (“Introduction to medicine and history of medicine”, “History of dental medicine”).

Mariana Gensabella
Marianna Gensabella is a professor of moral philosophy at the Department of Humanities at the University of Messina, where she teaches bioethics and ethics of communication. He also teaches bioethics at the Department of Medicine and Surgery and at the Department of Pharmacy of the University of Messina. She is a member of the executive board of the Higher School of Bioethics at the Theological Institute of S. Tommaso in Messina.
She was rector (2007-2013); head of the Department of Humanities (2013-2014); coordinator for Undergraduate Studies in Information Sciences (2004-2012; 2014-2016).
At the University of Messina, she graduated in philosophy with magna cum laude in 1972. Marianna Gensabella specialized in “Philosophy and Philosophical Research” in 1977 at the Specialized School of Philosophy of the University of Rome. Since 1974, she has developed an academic career: junior research fellow (1974), research fellow (1976), senior research fellow (1980), associate professor (2000), full professor (2010).
Her research includes various research directions in the field of contemporary moral philosophy. In the 80s of the last century, her research interest was focused on the phenomenology of need and desire, the connection between psychoanalysis and philosophy in Freud and Lacan. In the 90s, she studied French and Italian existentialism (based on the works of Sartre, Marcel, Prini and Pareyson), Christian thought and the topic of women’s thought. Since the mid-90s, he has been paying special attention to research problems in bioethics. She coordinated various interdisciplinary research projects, seminars, round tables, international and national conferences in the field of bioethics. She is the author of numerous publications: four monographs, ten editorial books, several articles in domestic and international scientific journals, chapters in editorial books and presentations at national and international conferences.
Mariana Gensabella, bioethicist, is a member of the international research group “Affiliate Global Bioethics” founded by Van Rensselaer Potter. She was a member of the Italian National Commission for Bioethics (2007-2017); she is also the general secretary of the Sicilian section of the National Institute of Bioethics.
On October 19, 2017, the Italian Department of the UNESCO Chair in Bioethics awarded Marianna Gensabella an award for promoting bioethical awareness through her professional work.

Eleni Kalokairinou
Associate Professor (BA Univ. of Athens, MA and PhD Univ. of Exeter, United Kingdom).
She was employed at the Department of Philosophical and Sociological Studies at the University of Crete (1994), the Department of Classics and Philosophy at the University of Cyprus (1995-2011). Since October 2011, he has been teaching philosophy at the Department of Philosophy and Education at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Her main research interests include moral philosophy, applied ethics and bioethics, political philosophy and ancient Greek philosophy. She was a member of the Cypriot National Committee for Bioethics from its establishment (2002) until 2011.
She participated as a partner in the European Research Program (COST) under the title IS 12 01 Disaster Bioethics: Addressing ethical issues triggered by disasters (2012-2016).

Željko Kaluđerović was born on May 6, 1964 in Vrbas, Vojvodina, Serbia. He graduated from the Department of Agriculture and Vegetable Growing at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad. In the same year, he enrolled in philosophy studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad, where he graduated in 1996. In 2003, Kaluđerović obtained a master’s degree at the Faculty of Philosophy in Novi Sad. He enrolled and defended his doctoral dissertation there in 2008.
Kaluđerović is employed as an associate professor at the Department of Philosophy of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Novi Sad, where he taught the courses History of Philosophy, Medieval and Modern Philosophy (2009-2010) for 3 years (2003-2006), and since 2009, i.e. 2010, he has been teaching the following courses: Greek philosophy, Hellenistic-Roman philosophy, Ethics, Bioethics, Ethics in journalism and Moral philosophy. Since 2010, at the Department of Philosophy and Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Tuzla (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Kaluđerović has been teaching courses in Ancient Greek Philosophy and Medieval Philosophy and Ethics.
Kaluđerović published following books: Aristotel i predsokratovci (KriMel, Novi Sad, 2004.), Helensko poimanje pravde (Izdavačka knjižarnica Zorana Stojanovića, Sremski Karlovci, Novi Sad 2010.), Presokratsko razumevanje pravde (Izdavačka knjižarnica Zorana Stojanovića, Sremski Karlovci, Novi Sad, 2013.), Filozofski triptih (Biblioteka ARHE, Filozofski fakultet, Novi Sad, 2014.), Dike and Dikaiosyne (Magnasken, Skopje, 2015) Rana grčka filozofija (Hijatus, Zenica, 2017.).
Kaluđerović has published more than 100 scientific articles and presentations in various scientific journals in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Macedonia, Hungary, Turkey, Germany and the USA.
Kaluđerović participated in more than forty-five international conferences and one international congress (9th World Bioethics Congress). Kaluđerović participated or is participating in four scientific projects in Serbia: Problems of modern philosophy (1996.-2000.); Place of philosophy in the modern society (2005.); The tradition of teaching philosophy in two oldest Serbian grammar schools (2008.-2011.); Teaching of philosophy in Serbian grammar schools of Vojvodina in the interwar period (2011-2017) and three scientific projects in Croatia: Origin of philosophy of ratio-vitalism in the philosophy of Ortega y Gasset (2014); Theoretical bases and practical implications of European bioethics (2015.-2017.); European bioethics in action – EuroBioAct (2014.-2017.).
Željko Kaluđerović is a member of the Bioethics Society of Serbia, the Croatian Bioethics Society, the Center for Integrative Bioethics (Macedonia), the Croatian Philosophical Society, the Macedonian Philosophical Society, the International Association of Pre-Socratic Studies, a member of the Organizing Committee of the Lošinj Days of Bioethics, a member of the editorial board of the JAHR magazine – the European magazine for bioethics of the Department for social sciences and humanities in medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka, editor-in-chief of the philosophical journal ARHE from Novi Sad, member of the Organizing Committee of the 6th Bioethical Forum for Southeast Europe (Serbia, 2010) and member of the committee for the “Zoran Đinđić” Award (2009 -2014.).

Tijana Trako Poljak
TIJANA TRAKO POLJAK was born on July 18, 1983. In 2007, she graduated from a four-year two-subject undergraduate course at the Department of Sociology and the Department of English at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb. In 2013, she completed her post-graduate doctoral studies in sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, defending her doctoral dissertation “The role of state-forming symbols in the construction of the identity of Croatian society”. Since 2008, she has been employed as a research trainee, in 2014 she was elected to the scientific title of research associate and employed as a post-doctoral student, and in 2016 as an assistant professor at the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb.
In her undergraduate studies at her home department, she is the instructor of the courses “Social Ecology”, “Environmental Ethics” and “Rural Sociology” and the instructor of “Introduction to Social Anthropology”, and within the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology she is the instructor of “Basic Concepts of Human Ecology”. As part of the postgraduate doctoral studies in sociology at the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb, she is the co-host of the course “Society and Environment”. She holds the title of “Environmental Ethics” at the graduate study of Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Agriculture in Zagreb.
She is the author of a monograph on Croatian identity and co-editor of anthologies and (co)author of several scientific and professional works, chapters in books and anthologies, which are mostly based on empirical research on Croatian society in the fields of social ecology, sociology of space, and the construction of identity with an emphasis on the symbolic dimension. She is a participant in numerous domestic and international scientific meetings. She is also active organizer of local meetings and as a translator of professional literature from English to Croatian.
She is the recipient of several scholarships, the most prominent of which are the Fulbright research scholarship at the University of California Los Angeles (2011-2012), and the British Scholarship Trust (2010/2011). She was awarded the Rector’s Award of the University of Zagreb in 2006 and the “Franjo Marković” Award of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb in 2007.
She participated in the scientific project “Modernization and identity of Croatian society: socio-cultural integration and Development” (leader: Prof. Ivan Cifrić, PhD) at the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy (2008-2012, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports). . She was also a collaborator on the project “Integrative thinking and a new paradigm of knowledge” (led by Prof. Ante Čović, PhD) at the Department of Philosophy (2013-2014, with the support of the University of Zagreb). In 2015-2016 she was a collaborator on the project “Development of ecology studies with the application of the Croatian qualification framework – EkoRaMa” (leader: Prof. Anđelka Plenković-Moraj, PhD) at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics in Zagreb (with the support of the European Union). She is currently a collaborator on the project “Factors of Success and cooperation models of Cooperatives in Croatia” (leader: assistant professor Jasmina Božić, PhD) at the Department of Sociology of the Faculty of Philosophy in Zagreb (2017-2018, with the support of the University of Zagreb). The project aims to define the factors of economic and social success of cooperatives in Croatia through quantitative and qualitative research.

Ivana Zagorac

Ivana Zagorac is an assistant professor at the Department of Philosophy, Faculty of Philosophy, University of Zagreb (date of election to the position: February 18, 2015). She is the head of the Department of Philosophy of Education. She received her doctorate in 2012 at the same faculty with the topic “Development of bioethical sensibility in Croatian society” (field of philosophy, branch of ethics). She trained scientifically at Institut für Medizinische Ethik und Geschichte der Medizin der Ruhr-Universität Bochum, Njemačka (Marie Curie Newfelpro scholarship, 2014–2015) and at Technische Universität Dortmund, Njemačka (DAAD scholarship, 2010.).She is the editor-in-chief of journal Metodički ogledi (ISSN: 1848-2325) and a member of Editorial bord of journals Filozofska istraživanja (ISSN: 1848-2309), Synthesis philosophica (ISSN: 1848-2317) and In medias res (ISSN: 1848-6304). She was the assistant editor-in-chief and then the editor-in-chief of the Library of the Collected Works of Pavel Vuk-Pavlović (Croatian Philosophical Society, Zagreb, 2007–2016). She was the leader of three projects funded by the University of Zagreb, which were focused on researching the concepts of vulnerability (2015) and compassion (2016, 2017). Maria Laura Giacobello is Associate Professor of Moral Philosophy, SSD M-FIL/03, at the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations, University of Messina.
She is a member of the Italian Philosophical Society.
She is a member of the Class IV (Literature, Philosophy and Fine Arts) of the Accademia Peloritana dei Pericolanti (founded 1729).
She is a member of the Edgar Morin International Study Center for Philosophy of Complexity
She is a member of the Sicilian Section of the Italian Institute of Bioethics.
She is on the editorial board of the magazine “Complessità”.
She is a member of the Scientific Committee of the Gallarate Center for Philosophical Studies.
She is on the Academic Board of the PhD program in Humanities, Messina University.
She heads an international research project on the theme of “complexity and ecoethics”, on behalf of the “Edgar Morin” International Studies Center for Philosophy of Complexity.
She is lecturer for the Master in Bioethics and Sexology, organized by the Higher School of Specialization in Bioethics, Messina, together with the Pontificia Salesiana University.
After obtaining the Classical Studies High School Diploma, she graduated in Philosophy at the University of Messina (1991).
She carried out scientific research at the LUISS (Free International University of Social Studies) Institute of Sociological and Political Studies in Rome, as holder of a scholarship from the Uberto Bonino and Maria Sofia Pulejo Foundation of Messina (1992).
She graduated in Law from the University of Messina (1999).
She is licensed to practice as a lawyer (2002).
She taught Psychology of Orientation and of Law and Social Legislation at the E. Ainis State Teacher Training College in Messina, as part of the 2002/2003 IFTS Regional Plan.
She was an adjunct professor of Economic History at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Messina (2007/2008).
She holds a PhD in Methodologies of Philosophy from the University of Messina (2011).
She was a lecturer at the “Francesco Fiorentino” Summer School of Higher Education, Italian Institute for Philosophical Studies, Lamezia Terme (2012).
She held a two-year research contract (2014/2015) to carry out study and analysis as part of the “Expert Decision Support System for Justice: S.ESP.IUS” project, concerning the computerization of civil law, at the Department of Economics, Business, Environmental and Quantitative Methodologies (SEAM) of the University of Messina.
She was a subject expert for Economic History (S.S.D. SCPS-P / 12) and Business and Professional Ethics (S.S.D. M-FIL 03) at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Messina; for History of Philosophy (S.S.D. M-FIL 06), for Logic and Philosophy of Science (S.S.D M-FIL / 02) and for Moral Philosophy (S.S.D. M-FIL / 03) at the Department of Ancient and Modern Civilizations at the University of Messina.
She was a lecturer for the second level Master in “Palliative care and pain therapy for Psychologists” at the University of Messina, II ed. A.A. 2019/2020.
Her research activity has mainly focused on the thinking of Max Weber, Hannah Arendt, Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen, Serge Latouche, Edgar Morin, Van Rensselaer Potter. She was also interested in the relationship between complexity theory, economics and ethics.

Ivana Tutić Grokša
She was born in 1992 in Zagreb. Since 2016, he is a Master of Social work after completing undergraduate and graduate studies in social work at the Social Work Study Center of the Faculty of Law, University of Zagreb. For several years, she worked within the social welfare system. Since 2018, she has been living and working in Rijeka, and since 2020, she is an assistant at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities in Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Rijeka, and a doctoral student at the Postgraduate Doctoral Studies Soc. of work.
He deals with scientific activities related to the social determinants of health, health inequalities, vulnerable groups and cooperation of the social. work and medical professions. She is a member of the Croatian research group of the research project Health care as a public space – Social integration and social diversity in the context of the availability of health care in Europe. She is the managing editor of scientific journals AMHA – Acta medico-historica Adriatica and Jahr – European Journal of Bioethics, member of the Organizing Committee of the annual scientific meeting Rijeka Days of Bioethics (2020-). In her free time, she is a professional therapist at the Club of Alcoholics in Treatment “Novi Život”.
